Portuguese-American Bibliography

The dedication of Leo Pap, who was a professor of linguistics and foreign languages at the State University of New York (College at New Paltz), to the research of the Portuguese-American Community is well documented in his published work and the innumerous talks he gave on the subject. In 1976, he published “The Portuguese in the United States: A Bibliography” published by the Center for Migration Studies in Staten Island, New York, that has now been made available online by the Education Resource Education Center. We thank him for his hard work, for recognizing our specificity, and we admire and respect him. Today, June 10th, 2012, on the Day of Portugal, the poet Camões and the Portuguese Communities Abroad, as an expression of our high regard and esteem for Professor Leo Pap, this page will from now on be called “The Leo Pap Portuguese-American Bibliography” in his honor.
